About Me.
Most know me as 'Breadman'. I adopted this moniker in the early 2000s while creating maps and mods for the Source engine. I live in England and when I'm not at work, I like to make games.
I grew up during the infancy of first-person shooters. I spent many of my days during 1993-2000 playing games like Doom, Quake, Duke Nukem and Half-Life. Sometime around 1998-1999 I began making maps for Quake 2 and Half-Life.
I never stopped and the habit led me to developing maps and mods with the Source Engine for 20~ years.
In 2016 I started using Unity, looking to branch into my own commercial space. Since then I have worked with both Unity and Source to tell interesting stories, create worlds and experiment with brain candy prototypes.
My Source Engine work is published under the name Breadman, as that's what my audience know me by. My Unity work is published under the Cyan Sundae Moniker.
I've made a lot of stuff over the years. Here are some popular examples:
-
The Gm_Rave - a map for Garry's Mod.
-
The Gm_Ghosthunt - a trilogy of maps for Garry's Mod.
-
The Hartley Asylum - a cancelled total conversion mod for Half-Life 2.
-
Entropy : Zero 1 & 2 - two massive Half-Life 2 singleplayer campaigns.
-
Bat Blast! - a full 2D game about magical bats.
Notably:
-
I was the lore writer and font of Half-Life lore knowledge for LambaGeneration.
-
I lead a team of 10~ people from around the world and wrote, directed, and produced Entropy : Zero 2.
-
I've prototyped literally tons of different ideas, most of which never make it to the public eye.
-
I've written a heck of a lot of stories which again, never make it to the public.
-
I make my own music.
-
I write my own apps to enhance and improve my own workflows (C# and Powershell)
Basically, I do and have done a lot of stuff. The best of it gets released for you to enjoy.
Odd bits
I have all of these prototypes and odd bits laying around. Here's some of them. Click on the images for details.
